I am Erik Boekhoven and I've been happily together with my partner Nathalie and our two adult sons for over 13 years. Over the past 20 years I've learned to live with an inflammatory bowel disease, a stoma and all its consequences. A long journey with ups and downs, which gave me a wealth of (self) knowledge and resilience.
In addition to being a loving partner and father, I am a nature coach, bird-nerd, huge fan of reading books, sportsman, people-connector. I love life, get a kick out of taking a dip in the ocean and exploring my limits. I experience life as a quest, but my path has become increasingly clear in recent years. Apart from continuing to develop myself, I enjoy helping others with their personal growth and nature experience. Because alone you go faster, but together we come further.
My mission: connecting people with themselves and each other, so that they (re)find their true power. Making our shit from the past into the fertilizer of our future. Having fun, cherishing mutual respect, being there for each other. Welcome home beautiful (wo)man!
The role of nature in my life
As a young boy I often went to the beach, the woods and the dunes with my parents. Our holidays consisted of long walks through the Belgian Ardennes and Austrian Alps. Later we discovered Greek islands and the colorful waters around Bonaire. One of my highlights was a stay in the jungle of Surinam. What abundance and beauty! Pure magic for me.
Wherever I go, I always search for (new) life. I saw the most beautiful birds, fish, insects and mammals. But also mushrooms, flowers and even lichens fascinate me endlessly. In recent years I have been looking closer to home. I discovered a universe of organisms in our garden. I love learning about their behavior, colors, camouflage, cooperation and survival strategies. The huge biodiversity on our planet never gets boring and never ceases to amaze me. It humbles me and fills me with a great sense of gratitude to be a part of this.
With Be in nature we have an eye for the beauty, abundance, strength and vulnerability of nature. She is a mirror and teacher in one. We are one big whole and all play a part in preserving and protecting each other. It's about us, not me. If you change your inner world, the outside world will change with you. And it is so incredibly beautiful that it would be a shame not to work on it every day and enjoy it.
